Lifting weights causes your body to transform as a result of small muscular tears, which can cause discomfort while the muscle repairs and rebuilds. Intense lifting causes tiny tears to occur in muscle fibers and connective tissue. With adequate rest and nutrition, the muscles gradually regenerate over the next several days, but complete recovery might take a week or more.
